Art Club
The Art Club of APEEJAY SCHOOLS is full of budding artist. They are full of bubbling lofty ideas and at the same time are quite enthusiastic to put them in action. The Art Club students went to SANLAAP, (an organization working for the cause of destitute girls and striving to impart to them not just education but the values of life) and had a great time. They started with a session on child rights and ended upon painting their thoughts on canvas.
The Art Club students are very enthusiastic and are always keen to do something different with the full support of wonderful and cooperative teachers.
The young Artists took up another project to beautify their school compound. The walls were painted with bright colours. The scenic beauty of the wall caught the attention of a German painter who was on a tour to all the schools of Kolkata. He painted a section of the wall himself.
The students of Art Club perform other activities such as painting, framing,
claywork, cardboard painting etc. All in all Art Club is a perfect mix of fun, joy, learning, creativity and colours. The walls and board of the schools are adorned with the work of the art students.
Nature Club
Learning from nature and creating a pollution free earth are the twin purpose methods of the nature club of Apeejay schools. Students make charts on conservation, pollution and ecosystem to create awareness among children about various global problems. Making of compost within school premises really helped in gardening. We have encouraged the children to use paper bags and other recyclable materials and banned the use of plastics. The children weeded the garden and cleaned the area to give it better look. This year's special attraction of Apeejay nature club vegetable garden in our Salt Lake school. Children were delighted to see the red tomatoes, green beans, purple brinjals, turnips etc. growing in plants which they had sowed and taken care of different plants have been collected and stuck in scrap book. We also planted trees that reduce global warming. Even though We've done a lot, there are many things yet to be done to create awareness pertaining to our environment.
Dance Club
Cultural heritage of India is incomplete without the wealth of our classical dance and music. Classical dances are the base of the dances which prevail in India.
Dances from all states are taught in the dance club of our school. Fusion dances are also given equal importance. Under the guidance an extremely talented and qualified teachers the students of this club has won prizes in various inter-school competitions. It is one of those club of our school which goes a longway to increase the spirit of co-curricular activities among children.
The dance group of talented dancers not only participate in Republic Day, Independence Day but also in the school's Annual Concert which has near about 350 participants. The Dance club also participates very actively in well known school fest and meets where it has won may prizes for our school.
The Dance club is not only the most favourite club but also the most popular club but also the most popular club because it fills all the school programmes with lots and lots of colour, music, spirit and enthusiasm. The Dance Club and singing Club together contribute in building up Apeejay's high spirit in the true sense.
Athletic Club
Our sports club is one of the most active clubs in the school and has come up in leaps and bounds in the past year. Our Cricket team went to Nepal to play against a team selected by Royal Government of Nepal .
We participated in the T.T. Tournament held at Don Bosco, organized by All Bengal Table Tennis Association. We participated in the Inter School Football tournament organized by Kolkata Police. We also participated in the 5-A side floodlight football tournament at CCFC and brought back laurels for the school.
A basketball tournament was organized by The Assembly of God Church where Apeejay put up a good show.
In the swimming section Arijit Roy, IX B won state level prizes. The Inter House Table Tennis tournament was held in December where Tagore House won the laurels.
English Drama Club
The English Drama Club is quite an active club staging plays throughout the year and winning prizes in various inter school fests. The club is perfect for those who are keenly interested in dramatics and have some hidden talent in them. Over the years students under the able guidance of their teachers have stages superb plays, which are comedy, thrillers as well as satires. The children of the club have won prizes in the British Council Drama Competition, Don-Bosco Fests and many others. This club provides a student with knowledge and entertainment and gives them a platform to show their talent.
Bengali Drama Club
The Bengali Drama and Cultural club of Apeejay School has always held the position of our Bengali tradition high. It has also helped us to portray that even in the midst of English Babu's dress there has been a dhoti clad Bengali hidden within us. Every festival in the school is celebrated with great pomp and show. But whenever there has been an event or a festival., there has not been a lack of enthusiasm and support from the teachers and the students of different clubs. This has been the only reason why we have so far been able to present interesting and entertaining events. It is very common scene in the school premises where we see teachers and students working together to put up a show for the next special occasion.
Computer Club
Under the modern system of education the computer has become one of the most important part of student's life. Apeejay School Computer Board manages the Computer Club, the remedial club and other computer related activities in school. Apart form the computer club is the Remedial Club. The Remedial club consists of students who are weak in mastering the computer language yet they take interest in it. When the students of the Remedial club are confident to take up new challenges they are transferred to the computer club. Summer and winter camps are organized where lot of new applications and programming. They organize different contest like best developer, best computer game player etc. Apart from the various activities Apeejay schools, Kolkata are marching forward in the world of computer. The performance of the school in the last few years is extremely well. The Apeejay School computer club is playing a vital role in ever changing world of computer by gathering information of the latest technological development in this field and imparting knowledge to the students.
Hindi Drama Club Report
In this club we make projects on the upcoming festivals. There are around 7-8 members and all of them participate actively in all the projects. This time Hindi Drama club members participated in Spicmacay programme which was a grand success. Hindi Drama club also organized a essay competion on Hindi Divas. Every week we discuss a
topic and do project on that topic.
Quiz Club Report
It is always a pleasure to write the Quiz club report every year since this is the most active club in Apeejay School, participating round the year in most school festivals and quizzes in the city. The club also is fortunate to have among its members some of the most interested and enthusiastic children who willingly and happlily participate in Quizzes.
Every year this club organizes two Inter House activities which are the Senior Inter House Quiz and the Junior Inter House Quiz. In addition to all these there are Quizzes conducted by Nestle India Ltd. The CBSE Heritage Quiz, the Bournvita Quiz etc. within the school premises. They also participated in the Chinmaya Mission quiz.
This club has brought many laurels to the school over the years.
We keep improving every year. Although every competition does not bring home a trophy, nevertheless each activity is learning and enriching experience – which is the ultimate mission of the Quiz club.
Social Service Club

The Social Service Club of Apeejay School has been doing various turnkey projects for the social welfare of the society. The children under our care in Apeejay Anand Children's Library unmensely looked by social service club.
Maths Club
There is a genuine place for a Mathematics Club in schools like Apeejay where the psychological development of a child is always given the first priority.In this club the students get opportunities to develop their hobby and participate in recreational mathematics, project games, discussions, debates and quiz.The students of Mathematics Club are making of 3-dimensional figures which will help them in understanding different aspects of solid geometry.In our club students make charts representing the correlation of maths with other subjects and the different branches of Mathematics.
Math quiz is one of the main activities done by maths club every year. The first of the three sets of quiz papers were given on net and students were asked to solve the same during summer vacation. Students really enjoyed the quiz papers.
Science Club
The Science Club is the dearest club of the young scientists of the School.It is a place where a whole lot of critical,analytical,technical and scientific dialogue takes place. Various experiments are conducted by the enthusiastic members of the club, theories are practiced and the quest to know the unknown is quenched. Some of the events of the club are models for the blind, charts as per C.B.S.E(X) syllabus,Science Quiz, art competition based on visit to B.I.T.M and Birla Planetarium etc.
International Awards for Young People
Its basis is self improvement. Joining IAYP will make you confident about your own abilities.
IAYP has three levels of work – Bronze, Silver and Gold. This year 8 students got the Bonze Award and 7 students got the Silver Award. We have a total of 30 students under this scheme, out of which 7 are working for Bronze, 16 are working for Silver and 7 are working for Gold.
IAYP contain four section in each level – skill, Physical Recreation, Expedition and Social Service. In skill we can work at reading, stamp collection, coin collection etc. Under physical recreation we can improve ourselves in activities like cricket, table tennis, swimming, cycling etc. Regarding social service our school has really contributed a lot to society. The students have taken part in programmes called ‘Each one teach one' in school they teach the under privileged children. In expedition the IAYP organizes camping tours to place like Purulia District, Bankura District, Tumling, Jhargram. Expedition is the best part as it is full of adventure. It includes activities like tent pitching, rope knotting, map reading, rock climbing, cooking etc.

The founder, Lord Baden Powell condensed the ideas of good character in form of a solemn promise. The ideals are attainable, because there is a path of approach through which anybody young and old can walk along.
