DEAS (Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme) -International Awards For Young People
Its basis is self improvement. Joining IAYP will make one confident about one's own abilities.
IAYP has three levels of work - Bronze, Silver and Gold. This year 8 students got the Bonze Award and 7 students got the Silver Award. We have a total of 30 students under this scheme, out of which 7 are working for Bronze, 16 are working for Silver and 7 are working for Gold.
IAYP contains four sections in each level - skill, Physical Recreation, Expedition and Social Service. In skill we can work at reading, stamp collection, coin collection etc. Under physical recreation we can improve ourselves in activities like cricket, table tennis, swimming, cycling etc. Regarding social service our school has really contributed a lot to society. The students have taken part in programmes called 'Each one Teach one' in school. They teach the under privileged children. In expedition the IAYP organizes camping tours to place like Purulia District, Bankura District, Tumling, Jhargram. Expedition is the best part as it is full of adventure.
It includes activities like tent pitching, rope knotting, map reading, rock climbing, cooking etc. This year the club plans few new moves towards the Award.
