The school also prioritises fostering amicable relationships between teachers, students, and staff of the Apeejay community by undertaking well-conceived initiatives.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each top-scoring student in the science and commerce AISSCE streams receives a cash prize of Rs 50,000 under the <strong>Surrendra Paul Scholarship Award <\/strong>for Science Achievements and the <strong>Jit Paul Scholarship Award<\/strong> for Excellence in Commerce.<\/li>\n<li>The Apeejay School Salt Lake\u2019s Social Service Club believes in serving society to impact it positively. Initiatives undertaken by the club include:\n<ul>\n<li>Distributing clothes and woollens during Durga Puja and Christmas.<\/li>\n<li>Distributing food grains and other consumables whenever a natural calamity strikes.<\/li>\n<li>Distributing food packets in slum areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Apeejay Anand Children\u2019s Library undertakes events, such as \u2018Puja Parikrama\u2019 and \u2018Annual Picnic\u2019, to bring joy to underprivileged children. The needy kids are also made a part of the school activities.<\/li>\n<li>Our school arranges visits to orphanages and old-age homes during the festive season.<\/li>\n<li>We organise annual eye and dental check-ups for the students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Parent-Teacher Meetings<\/strong><br \/>\nPTMs are an integral part of our school\u2019s policy to foster a close parent-teacher dynamic. On PTM days, the parents and the teachers interact to better understand the child\u2019s needs. They mutually discuss various issues that require attention.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Open House<\/strong> <strong>Sessions<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen House Sessions invite parents to observe the teaching methods used in school to educate our students and also witness first-hand the students&#8217; reception of these methods and the benefits they reap.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Parent Buddy System<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parent Buddy System has proven highly successful for our school. It uses the pedagogical skills and talents of non-working mothers by offering them opportunities to teach. The system motivates and boosts their confidence and allows them to utilise their skills in a meaningful way.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Peer-Educator System<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Senior students serve as mentors and educators for their juniors. They clarify doubts and impart knowledge. This helps build the seniors\u2019 confidence and makes them more self-assured. They evolve into great role models.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Introduction to Artificial Intelligence<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Apeejay School Salt Lake has added Artificial Intelligence as a skill subject in classes VIII to X. This is in keeping with CBSE&#8217;s initiative to incorporate new-age technology lessons and other digital skills into the curriculum.
