The Anand Paul Education Support Programme
The Apeejay Surrendra Group launched this education support programme in 2010.
Its goal was to identify children from the underprivileged areas around Park Street,
who either dropped out of school or were not enrolled, and help them return to school.
Under this programme, 10 education centres were opened in local club rooms and community halls in association with CINI Kolkata Unit (formerly CINI ASHA) and Focus. Around 450 children have benefitted from the remedial support provided at these centres.
Apeejay Group also introduced the Adult Literacy and Skill Training for Livelihood Generation programme. Two centres were opened to impart literacy and life skills training to the mothers of children under The Anand Paul Education Support Programme. The Group is fortunate to be a catalyst of change in the lives of at least 50 such women.
Surrendra Paul Gramodaya Vidyalaya
Surrendra Paul Gramodaya Vidyalaya is an educational institution launched by the Apeejay Surrendra Group. It plays a vital role in developing Chitrakoot and its adjacent villages in
Madhya Pradesh – areas identified as ‘most backwards’ by the Indian Planning Commission.
Set up in 1991, in partnership with Dindayal Research Institute, the School takes forward the literacy aspect of the late Nanaji Deshmukh’s mission of self-reliance in these areas.
The programme offers quality formal and informal education to nearly 1,000 students annually.
